“Here are standout, unique rides across the U.S. and Canada worth planning for in 2026: Tour die Kapellen, Hays, KS”
As a first time rider in the Tour die Kapellen, I was highly impressed by the professionalism of this ride. The TdK organizers and volunteers were friendly, helpful and well informed about the ride. The route was well marked, enjoyable, and not difficult.

This event is so unique…it brings together riders of all ages and levels from several states, and it is fun to talk to riders and learn what they enjoyed the most.
Mike M, Hays, KS (Sweeper Volunteer)
In my opinion, this event has fostered tremendous success because it is not simply ‘a bike race’. Tour die Kapellen is a day long wellness event that engages the participant’s mind, body and spirit.

By far, this is the best organized ike ride I have participated in throughout all my years as a cyclist. It is apparent how much thought and behind-the-scenes work go into planning this ride. Every last detail is covered: excellent marking along the route, amazing SAGS, beautiful music at the churches, etc. It is a TOP-Notch event!.

Learning about the Volga-German culture was very interesting and informative and gave ma a greater appreciation for my own faith. The authentic German meal prepared afterwards was the icing on the cake! I’ve never tasted some of that food before and can’t wait to go back and experience more of that awesome food!

The information we received and the history of the churches given before we arrived at each church was excllent! It was fun to meet other people from different towns, cities and states. The music was awesome and the final band at the park was entertaining..

Volunteering for the TdK Bike ride is such a fun and rewarding experience! I love getting to meet riders from all around the Kansas as well as from around the country. The energy, stories and sense of community make it truly special. It’s amazing to be a part of something that brings so many great people to our community.
Sandy J, Hays, KS (Hays City Commissioner)

An unparalleled experience!! Best organized ride I’ve done!
Jenny K, Lincoln, NE, (Cyclist)
What I discovered was that the TdK was an unforgettable experience, shaped as much by the culture as the ride itself. Beyond the peaceful countryside and striking historic chapels, the event is rich with local flavor, live music, regional food and a genuine sense of pride that brings the community together. The hospitality of the welcoming locals makes you feel less like a visitor and more like part of the tradtion.

This was a total blast! Well-guided routes that were fun, safe, and challenging for any bike rider no matter what age or experience level with stops at some of the most beautiful churches anwhere .
